Tres Leches Cake

Last month I traveled to Pennsylvania where, in a wonderful restaurant in New Hope, I had tres leches cake. It seems difficult to find the origin of the cake, although most sources point to Latin America. My cake consisted of sponge cake soaked in three kinds of milk: condensed, evaporated and whole. Lastly the cake was topped with whipped cream.

  1. Dear Mr.Hughes,
My name is Chloe Mellen, and I am a Second year Jewellery Design Student at Central Saint Martin in London, UK.
I am currently preparing an application for the Brian Wood grant, which is a grant given to whichever student van put forward the most interesting travel plan for their work.
I would like to travel to new england to look at 18th century male adornment, but would also like to see some more modern work.
I found your website, and really liked your work. It says you are based in providence.
Of course I have not won the grant yet, but if I were to win it, would it be possible to organise for me to visit your studio and see some of your work? I think i would be travelling during August.
    Kind Regards
    Chloe Mellen

    1. Hi Chloe,

It is nice to meet you and hear about your application for the Brian Wood grant. I would be more than happy to organize a studio visit. While in undergrad I did a semester abroad in England and later Scotland visiting Central Saint Martin. It is a very nice school. Best of luck with the grant! Email me anytime.

      Cheers,
      Kevin
