Philip Guston
Looking at the works of Guston, I find the artist breaking down objects and things into the simple yet still definable. There is also present grouping and combining, almost massing. Yet for me, the strongest element of Guston's work is in his imagination. Guston has the ability to create wild and interesting scenes, a giant head without nose and mouth, or a KKK figure painting a KKK figure. Where does he get this imagery? I also want to mention how much I just like the guy. Guston had such a great demeanor. Listening to him talk with cigarette in hand, Guston seemed down to earth, approachable.

Shoe Horn
Make fun of it all you want. The shoe horn is a indispensable item. If you are going to spend a reasonable amount of money on shoes don't destroy them jamming them on your feet.
